Your preferred place of meditation should ALWAYS be set up in a manner which promotes relaxation. Some folks burn perfumed candles, or incense, although some people have relaxing music playing in the background, however what I find works best for me, is simply listening to the natural sounds you find out in the open state, such as birdsong, rustling trees etc..
